This is My Story

We know that you do the best you can to improve your quality of  life and some times you might just want to tell the world about it.  Now you can.  Philadelphia Sports Training Center wants to hear from student-athletes, professional athletes, occupational athletes, and recreational athletes about how sports has impacted your life.  Has it helped get you the job you're in?  Have you survived the crimes of the streets?  Did you re-connect with you parents through sports?  Has your coach inspired you to do better things than you used to?

While PSTC cannot publish every submitted story, it inspires us to know that as we strive to emphasize the importance of academics & athletics, we do strive to publish content that fits the values and mission of our program.  There is no format to tell your story, but we do want you to have it as organized as possible.  On that note, we have outlined a few suggestions that will finds its way in the hands of our review committee:

Back in the day, I was the most popular kid in high school.  I played football, basketball, and even track.  Since I was like 14 years old my coaches kept telling me that I was going to go far in life and probably play in the NFL.  That was the best compliment I think I ever had from anyone.  I came from the normal single parent family, living with my mom, my 2 brothers (Jake 10 & Blake 12), and my little sister, Makia 7.  So everything was pretty much normal in our home except not having a dad around, I think it felt more like...

I love playing basketball and volleyball.  They are both my favorite sports.  My mother played volleyball for the US Olympic team in the 80's and my dad played on his college national championship team that went undefeated.  If I goto college, my primary sport is most likely going to be volleyball because I know that my mom would want me to follow in her footsteps.  Of course my dad is going to be upset, but with me being 6'3" and able to dunk a volleyball I will be able to play immediately and hopefully make the Olympic next team if I can get ...

This is my AAU team from 2003, when I was 15 years old.  That's me the one in the back with the red ribbon on.  OK, still can't find me, well I'm the darkest and tallest guy you can see.  ha ha ha .  That was a great time back then, you don't see our coach because he was taking the picture and we didn't have fancy photographers and tripods like they do now, but our coach was the best, he looked after me since I was like 10 years old.  We had 14 other guys on the team and presently I'm the only one that decided to even goto college.  Unfortunately, coach told me the other starters are now...
