Awards & Prizes
All
off-season competitions typically have an internal award from being the
winner of the game, then leader on the stat chart, and ultimately winning
the championship itself in any sport. In football we understand that
in order to be successful and able to compete with your peers locally,
regionally and nationally your incentives come from various sources.
You want to be recognized for your accomplishments on the football field,
for the most part was achieved through your sacrifice to practice, study the
plays or passing tree, make the 90-minute trip bus 2 buses just to get to
the field to practice, and getting in the weight room to make sure that you
were at the top of your game. So recognition is not something that's
so far fetched that its incomprehensible to realize that wanting the
community, your peers, your coaches, and your family to know that your team
did everything they could (legitimately) to be the best in your selected
competition.
There are plenty of 7-on-7 scrimmages that any school can do amongst
yourselves for free or little cost and that's another way to go. Of
course, as a locally and family owned business, Philadelphia Sports Training
Center wants to succeed on the field and off the field. In order for
PSTC to succeed on the field, we must continue to uphold the standards and
integrity of the game of football. Through our partnership with the
Philadelphia Football Association of Referee's to provide professional,
organized, and respected referee's certified as state PIAA officials and
NCAA officials, so that the student-athletes learn the rules and proper way
to play the game without penalty during the regular football season.
PSTC makes sure that we accommodate to the fans and parents of the
student-athletes participating with adequate security personnel, customer
service representatives and volunteers to make the event fun and exciting.
Off the field the 7-on-7 Passing Football League will market all games to
every Pennsylvania College and University recruiter and scout so that
athletes that have worked on their skill in their position will have the
exposure to demonstrate an ability to play at the next level. Because
of the format of the league with weekly games played over 10 weeks this will
give college coaches multiple opportunities to watch a student-athlete play
the game. Because we want to make sure that all participants
understand that they must have a minimum 2.0 grade point average, this will
effectively alert college recruiters that participants are eligible and take
their education serious enough to meet the academic standards of integrity
needed to succeed in "The Real World."
Our success can be your success as a participant. Our goal is to
provide you a venue to which you: can display your football skills to
college coaches, help you work on the skill at your position, encourage your
participation in an off-season training program, and inspire your
understanding that you are a "student-athlete." In recognition of a
team's success on the field we will offer team awards in various categories.
As a student-athlete when you work hard your rewards internally become more
than important as the external reward, but the PFL will honor individual
awards for those that have exceeded their peers in integrity, academic
excellence, and statistical categories. For the advancement of our
economy and the revitalization of our community, the PFL will recognize team
awards that include the Grand Prize to the Champions of the league which is
a financial contribution of $1,000 to the school athletic department of the
team's choice. This contribution will be given prior to the start of
the of the pre-season or before August 9th. Pre-season officially
starts on August 11th for all Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland high
schools and middle schools. In addition to the financial contribution,
the final four teams competing in the playoffs will receive $1,000 towards
PSTC Football Speed Camp at Temple University from June 16th - August 8th.
Plus each student-athlete will receive a monetary amount for a college
savings fund with UPromise.
